Day 3

Where do the ministry dollars go? Some have asked... I am here to answer! See the picture of the truck? Behind it is 120 cases of water! That is over 4200 bottles of cool water for relief workers and Katrina victims. This is A lOT of water, and it was only the first load. The final total was 6000 bottles! Thanks to Pastor Joe from Conover for helping arrange this wonderfully refreshing delivery. :)

Today (Monday) was the first full work day for almost 100 volunteers. This morning was a hectic buzz of people and staff. Mark and Cathy were working with the Conover team getting a roofing job organized, and Thelma and Louise (Nancy and Liz) were busy spreading cheer and good spirits to everyone. The morning started with a large group orientation and training.
Right after the training, we grabbed our tools and hit the road for our job-site destinations. We had the awesome opportunity to tackle a roofing job, where most of a roof was blown off by the hurricane winds. Our home owner, Mary, was very thankful for the work we were doing, but we were more humbled and honored to have the opportunity to share the gospel with her and present her with a new bible. The entire team of 14 signed the inside cover, and wrote our favorite bible verses in it. If you click & enlarge this photo, you can see that both Mary and her fiancee were in great spirits at the end of our work day. We prayed, shared, listened and laughed with them. It was a great day!

Hey Marko!

You're blog is incredible! You totally are a gifted communicator!

We are humbled and awed to be on our knees alongside you and Cathy and the Conover gang as you seek to enhance and advance His Kingdom!

The verses that came to me today as a prayer for you focus on abiding ... you know them, but here they are as a reminder:

John 15:3-5
4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5 "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.

I shared these same verses with the Conover gang on their blog: conovermissions.blog.com

May the Lord bless and keep each of you close to Himself today! ... and hey! ... what a thrill to have my 2 favorite "MARKS" serving together! I'd guess we could call you the "Brothers Mark?"

In Him,

Dave J

My humble thanks for your encouragement. I give all the praise to God, from whom all my gifts flow.
Tonight we have been invited to a mission-minded church in Lagoona Beach, CA. As great as that news is, all I can say is:
Jesus is Enough,
MJ
